What is IMAT? (International Medical Admissions Test)
IMAT, or International Medical Admissions Test, is a national exam used for admission to English-taught Medicine and Dentistry programs in Italy.
It is organized by the Italian Ministry of Education (MIUR) in collaboration with Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing.
🎯 Who Can Take the Exam?

International students (non-EU applicants) who wish to study Medicine or Dentistry in English in Italy.

Students who have already obtained a high school diploma or are in their final year of secondary education.
📘 IMAT Exam Structure
The IMAT assesses candidates’ skills in logical reasoning, scientific knowledge, and critical thinking.
The test consists of 60 multiple-choice questions, to be completed in 100 minutes.

Each correct answer is worth +1.5 points, each incorrect answer deducts –0.4 points, and unanswered questions receive 0 points.

The IMAT is typically held every year in September.
Applications are submitted between March and June through the official website of the Italian Ministry of Education: the Universitaly portal.
